Dr. Megan Kimberley, BSc., N.D.
Dr. Megan Kimberley is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She has spent the past seven years running the Mackenzie Naturopathic Clinic in Penticton, B.C., and is happy to now be part of the Okanagan Wellness Centre. Her focus is on prevention, integrating the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of health. Dr. Kimberley graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in 2000. There she received training in acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, and counseling. Previous to this she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biopsychology from the University of British Columbia. Her practice is general, treating everything from chronic colds to cancer. Dr. Kimberley treats all ages, and especially enjoys working with children and teens. Sandra R. Forsyth, MSW, RSW
Sandra has over thirty years experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist. Recently transplanted from Calgary, her practice includes individuals, couples and families. Sandra has a unique talent for working with children. She handles issues that range from attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance, behavioral concerns, sexual and physical abuse, to issues arising from divorce and blended families. In her work with adults, Sandra counsels those maneuvering through life transitions, depression and anxiety; treats adult children of dysfunctional families, survivors of abuse; and those coping with addictions. Diane has over thirty years as a counsellor/psychotherapist and business consultant. Recently transplanted from Calgary, she is well known for her work with complex coupleship issues. Diane's style and skill level also attracts entrepreneurs, professionals, and senior executives whose personal problems are impacting their business and vice versa. Furthermore, Diane's well-rounded career includes expertise in the areas of: trauma; stress; codependency, childhood issues; addictions; abuse; sexuality concerns; normal life transitions such as loss and mid-life changes; and mood disorders including depression and anxiety. Dr. Jese Wiens is a licensed Naturopathic Physician with additional certification in Acupuncture and Bowen Therapy. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in cell biology and genetics. She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster B.C. Dr. Wiens believes in individualized health care and recognizes the value of working with all health care providers to improve patients' health and well-being. She has a passion for finding and treating the underlying cause of illness to aid the body in obtaining optimal health, taking health care beyond just getting rid of bothersome symptoms. Dr. Wiens emphasizes educating her patients and uses a holistic and preventive approach. Dr. Wiens has a general family practice and treats all types of patients, with added experience in chronic pain, women's health, children's health, arthritis, and gastrointestinal health. She has a particular interest in Bowen Therapy, a hands on technique to balance the nervous system and relieve pain. Dr. Wiens lives in Summerland where she enjoys time with her husband and daughter. Nora Hunt-Haft has an extensive and successful working history that has included sales, marketing, people and project management. Her management roles have engulfed all aspects of business, with experience ranging from small companies to industry leaders. With over fifteen years in the computer industry, she is accustomed to and enjoys fast paced environments. Moving to Penticton in 2000, Nora took on the role of Executive Director for the Downtown Penticton Association for seven years. In 2007, Nora opened the Okanagan Wellness Centre, a centre for alternative health care, personal development, and counselling. Nora is a business facilitator specializing in Strategic Planning and a personal development program leader representing The Excellence Series. Nora is also known as a Community Builder, she is the Co-Chair of the Spirit of BC Penticton Committee, a member of the United Way Cabinet, and a Director on the Board for the Okanagan School of the Arts. Kasandra Harfield, R. Irid., CMTA
Kasandra helps people who are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Mostly, she works with clients who are hitting that 50+ range and are fed up with annoying digestive problems or stubborn weight gain, arthritis, diabetes or other chronic conditions which are just not going away. Working with Kasandra, her clients re-connect with a healthy body that brings them more joy, energy and personal confidence. Kasandra Harfield is a Registered Iridologist, a Metabolic Typing Nutritionist, a certified Neurogistics practitioner and a passionate health advocate with over 20 years experience in the natural health field. Kasandra is based out of Vancouver, however she offers Iridology Sessions in Penticton at the Okanagan Wellness Centre on a regular basis. Kati Farnell, RMT
Kati is one of our new additions to the centre. She has recently graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon after completing the 3,000 hour course. At OVCMT Kati received training in sports therapy, geriatrics, maternity, special needs and corporate massage giving her a well-rounded portfolio to help all of her clients. Through her training Kati has honed her focus on prevention and maintence of the body for optimal function and helping clients deal with chronic or acute muscle and joint injuries. She knows that there is always time for relaxation and that relaxation is the key to a healthy mind and body. Dr. Cary Yurkiw, DC
Dr. Cary Yurkiw received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1993. Dr. Yurkiw completed locum (term) work for three years, assisting many doctors by servicing their patients while they were away from their office. During this time Dr. Yurkiw treated a large cross section of patients and learned a variety of methods of treatment to help many conditions. Dr. Yurkiw has taken post graduate training with Palmer College in Florida, as well as several post graduate courses and seminars at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Yurkiw has also studied Torque Release Technique (TRT) and can perform adjustments by hand or with an instrument known as the Integrator. Dr. Yurkiw enjoys presenting seminars on a varierty of topics related to health and chiropractic. He is available as a guest speaker for your workplace or conference. After 12 years of private practice in Winnipeg, Dr. Yurkiw has relocated to Summerland, where he lives with his wife and children.
