Dr. Jese Anne Wiens, BSc, ND
Dr. Wiens believes in individualized health care and recognizes the value of working with all health care providers to improve patients' health and well-being. She has a passion for finding and treating the underlying causes of illness. The goal is to aid the body in obtaining optimal health, taking health care beyond just getting rid of bothersome symptoms. Dr. Wiens emphasizes educating her patients and uses a holistic and preventive approach. Dr. Wiens offers comprehensive assessment and treatment for most health concerns including injury, digestive disturbance, fatigue, insomnia, and hormone issues. Mike and his wife have recently relocated to Penticton from Osoyoos via the Lower Mainland in 2009. Their two children have also made Penticton their home. Mike retired from a long successful career in Information Technology in 2005 and followed an interest into the wellness industry by attending the Brandon Raynor School of Natural Therapies. Sandra has over twenty nine years experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist. Recently transplanted from Calgary, her practice includes individuals, couples and families. Sandra has a unique talent for working with children. She handles issues that range from attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance, behavioral concerns, sexual and physical abuse, to issues arising from divorce and blended families. In her work with adults, Sandra counsels those maneuvering through life transitions, depression and anxiety; treats adult children of dysfunctional families, survivors of abuse; and those coping with addictions. Diane has over thirty four years as a counsellor/psychotherapist and business consultant. Recently transplanted from Calgary, she is well known for her work with complex coupleship issues. Diane's style and skill level also attracts entrepreneurs, professionals, and senior executives whose personal problems are impacting their business and vice versa. Dr. Megan Kimberley is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She has spent the past eleven years running the Mackenzie Naturopathic Clinic in Penticton, B.C., and is happy to now be part of the Okanagan Wellness Centre. Her focus is on prevention, integrating the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of health. Dr. Kimberley graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in 2000. There she received training in acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, and counseling. Previous to this she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biopsychology from the University of British Columbia. Her practice is general, treating everything from chronic colds to cancer. Mark Romano lives in Summerland BC with his wife and two children. He enjoys music, nature and spending time with his family. Mark challenges himself to stay active and has always recognized the mental health benefits of exercise. In 2008, he earned his diploma in applied psychology and counseling. Soon after, he became a certified personal trainer. As co-founder of Motivation Medics, Mark is excited to combine his skills as a personal trainer and counselor to help people achieve change and reach their full potential. For the last year, Mark has worked as a motivation specialist and personal trainer at City Center Health and Fitness in Penticton. Prior to this, he worked with Health Canada developing programs and raising awareness about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. Mark has a combined total of more than 16 years working with youth and adults, helping them overcome barriers and reach their goals. Shannon Romano lives in Summerland where she enjoys spending time near the water with her husband, two kids, and two dogs. After earning her Masters degree in Clinical Social Work, she spent 5 years at Interior Health Authority counseling people with health challenges and addiction issues. After her time in the healthcare field, she worked in the private sector providing counseling for women. In addition to her clinical experience, she obtained her BCRPA certification as a personal trainer and co founded Motivation Medics. Shannon believes our real health epidemic is not just obesity, diabetes and heart disease but the existential void that exists for many of us. The Okanagan Wellness Centre welcomes Beryl Campbell to the team. Beryl is a Certified Reflexology Therapist. She graduated from Okanagan College in 2004 and has been practicing Reflexology for the last eight years. Beryl teaches us how important it is to look after our feet, and how to learn more about our bodies through our feet. Continuing with her education, Beryl is also qualified in providing Indian Head Massages; a massage technique that focuses on the back, shoulders, arms, neck, head and face. Beryl is originally from Richmond, moving to Penticton in 1999. She is a compassionate woman who has dedicated over 21 years to serving others as a care aide. You will also find Beryl participating at the downtown community market, offering mini reflexology treatments for the locals and tourists throughout the summer. Denise Miller, Counsellor/Coach
Denise believes that an increased ability and capacity to effectively communicate our emotions, thoughts, needs and wishes leads to a more balanced and authentic life filled with improved relationships. Nora Hunt-Haft has an extensive and successful working history that has included sales, marketing, people and project management. Her management roles have engulfed all aspects of business, with experience ranging from small companies to industry leaders. With over sixteen years in the computer industry, she is accustomed to and enjoys fast paced environments. Moving to Penticton in 2000, Nora took on the role of Executive Director for the Downtown Penticton Association for seven years. In 2007, Nora opened and now manages the Okanagan Wellness Centre, a centre for alternative health care, personal development, and counselling. Nora is always contributing by organizing and promoting workshops for women and she is known as a Community Builder; in Penticton she Co-Chaired of the Spirit of BC Committee, was a member of the United Way Cabinet, and a Director on the Board for the Okanagan School of the Arts.
